Anxiety

Issues around anxiety are rife in today's society – even more so as we deal with the consequences of the Covid pandemic.

Like every emotion, anxiety is normal and is our body's natural reaction to stress and the fear of what's possibly around the corner in our lives. These feelings can be both mental and physical.

However, when anxiety ceases to be manageable and instead becomes more extreme or constant and begins to interfere with your day to day well-being then it becomes a problem. Anxiety can be crippling in some cases.

I work in a person-centred way with clients suffering from anxiety and can help them explore the causes of these anxieties and develop tools to help them cope and make life more manageable.

Anxiety can also be a part of other mental health disorders such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder and OCD. These disorders are more specialist and clients would be best finding a therapist who focus on these issues.

If you have suffered from anxiety I welcome your call or email. Together we can look at your fears and apprehensions and work towards reclaiming your life from the grip of anxiety.
